Full Itinerary
Day 01: Colombo Arrival – Transfer to Kandy
Upon arrival, our representative will happily greet and escort you to the hotel in Kandy. Later, get into a sightseeing tour of Kandy – the UNESCO world heritage site. Kandy - historic city about 480m above sea level surrounded by mountains was known to Sri Lankan as Kanda Uda Rata, which means the hill country. The city - Kandy was home to the last independent kingdom of Sri Lanka survived two centuries of colonial incursion before finally falling to the British at the beginning of the nineteenth century. Head to the temple of the tooth, the Peradeniya University campus and catch a panoramic view of the picturesque town from upper lake drive.
Later, in the early evening, witness a Kandyan Dance performance and to be treated to a spectacular fire walking finale. Kandy is also famous for its shopping, gems and jewelry, handicrafts, batiks, silks and a lot more. Also, you will have the opportunity of browsing to your heart’s content.
Overnight stay in Kandy.
Day 02: Transfer from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya – Kandy
Enjoy breakfast and then, take a drive from Kandy to the tea plantation. En route, head to The Royal Botanical Gardens. Get ready to visit Tea Plantation & Tea Factory, where the best tea in the world is produced. Once there, you could observe the process of manufacturing tea. Also, you can learn how tea is graded.
Later, transfer from Tea Plantation to Nuwara Eliya.
Nuwara Eliya meaning the city of dawn is the town at the highest elevation (about 2000m above sea level) in Sri Lanka and its tallest peak, Piduruthalagala (2555m) could be seen from here. The city was established by the British in the 19th century, and popularly known as Little England. Nuwara Eliya is also a prevalent holiday resort for the locals and tourists due to its favorable climate and quaint colonial feel with its little bungalows surrounded by hedgerows. The city is also the heart of the tea country and you can head to a plantation and a factory en route. Once there, witness how the famous Ceylon Tea is brewed.
Day 03: Transfer to Bentota
Enjoy breakfast and after that, transfer to Bentota.
Bentota situates at the finishing end of the Golden Mile which takes you an hour’s drive from Colombo. Being renowned for its prime beaches, Bentota currently is one of Sri Lanka’s most sought after tourist destinations. The Bentota's town actually, sits on an estuary, where the river and the sea meet. This makes the area quite famous for water sports like windsurfing, scuba diving & snorkeling.
Enjoy water sports such as Jet Ski, Banana Ride and Tube Ride (extra cost). Get into Madu Ganga Boat ride. Lunch near the river (extra cost).
Overnight in Kandy.
Day 04: Transfer to Colombo
After breakfast, relax at leisure.
Later, transfer to Colombo and the rest of the day will be yours. Overnight in Colombo.
Day 05: Colombo Departure
Time to say goodbye to Sri Lanka. Breakfast and relax at leisure until getting escorted to the airport for a flight coming back home. The trip ends. Hope you enjoyed it. Wish that we could serve you one again when it comes to other Sri Lanka tours.
